Puberty and Growing Up
Please be aware that this course is only available to those that live or work in Medway.
This course is for those that would like to learn about puberty and adolescence and the changes that happen during this time. As well as how to support children through this time.
This session is open to all parents and carers but please note that the aim is to provide general information and guidance.
The content will not cover SEND or Neurodiversity in detail and we will not be able to explore individual situations or concerns within the session as it wouldn’t be safe to do so.
We do provide signposting to other services for any parents that have worries about their own health and wellbeing or that of their children and would like to know how to access support services.
By the end of this session, you will have an understanding of:
- The physical changes which take place during puberty
- The emotional changes which take place during puberty
- Adolescent brain development
- How those changes may affect our children’s relationships and how to manage them
Please be advised that bookings for courses should be cancelled via the health portal at least one week before the training date. If you are unable to do this via this portal due to bookings for the course being closed - please email childhealth@medway.gov.uk to cancel your place. If this does not happen or there is non-attendance on the day/s of the course then delegates will be charged £50 (individual circumstances will be considered)
Would you like to inform us of any learning needs or resource requirements that will support your learning experience?
Let’s get started by selecting which option is best for you.
