Medway Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the exemptions listed below.

Disproportionate burden

Some buttons and links do not meet colour contrast requirements. This occurs with the branding colours so cannot be easily changed. We have reviewed this and confirmed it is a disproportionate burden to fix at this time. We will review this again with later updates to this statement.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

Navigation and accessing information

It’s not always possible to change the device orientation from horizontal to vertical without making it more difficult to view the content.

Maps

The website embeds Google Maps on the contact us page. Any accessibility issues with the maps are managed by Google

Maps that are not used for navigational purposes are exempt from meeting accessibility regulations.

If you need the information presented in a map in a different format, you can request the documents in an accessible format.
