Participants will explore cultural perspectives, learn how to signpost effectively, and reflect on the emotional impact of this work. The session provides a supportive space to develop the skills and understanding needed to respond to suicide concerns with confidence and compassion.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the prevalence and impact of suicide among young people
- Explore cultural differences in perceptions of suicide
- Recognise warning signs, risk factors, and protective factors in young people
- Apply the P.L.A.N. approach to respond safely and appropriately to suicide concerns
- Confidently signpost to relevant local and national support services
- Reflect on the emotional toll of this work and apply strategies for self-care and boundary setting
